Planet Women Strategy
TRANSFORM THE CULTURE OF CONSERVATION
Planet Women offers two initiatives that empower everyone to be an environmental leader:
100 Women Pathway
and
Center for Gender, Equity & the Environment.
Highlights
Center for Gender, Equity, and the Environment
OBJECTIVE: Increase gender equity in the environmental sector by offering resources and technical support to grassroots groups.
Planet Women’s Center for Gender, Equity & the Environment (CGEE) initiative offers leadership development, gender mainstreaming training and seed grants to leaders at African environmental organizations.
CGEE offerings:
Women’s Leadership Circle, a program to resource and mentor women in conservation organizations so they can advance in their careers, and;
Gender Mainstreaming training for men and women to learn how to create gender action plans and embed gender equity into conservation organizations and local communities.
100 Women Pathway
OBJECTIVE: Rapidly advance diverse women into senior leadership roles in the US conservation and environmental sector.
The eight-month program brings together mid-career women who are already making an impact in the environmental space and looking to take the next step in their growth. Together, participants explore their unique leadership qualities, learn from their peers and professional coaches, and connect with executive leaders and recruiters. As a result, these women leaders have the support they need to remain in the sector and overcome barriers to advancement into more senior roles.

Fundraising Workshops
OBJECTIVE: Advance our nonprofit partners’ missions by teaching and promoting fundraising skills.
In the wake of USAID and other U.S. federal funding cuts, Planet Women started offering free Fundraising 101 workshops, open to any nonprofits globally. Planet Women Co-Founder Kristine Zeigler has now delivered these trainings to more than 250 people—ranging from development pros to executive directors to program staff who attend funder meetings.
Attendees reported that these workshops have helped them to respond to their organizations’ loss of funding and learn new skills in identifying donors, communicating about their organization, scripting an ask, and thanking supporters.
